CACE Homecare Curriculum Features
Environmental scans are an opportunity for the user(s) to assess the environment for potential hazards as well as gather information on possible indicators of cognitive impairment. Users should be reminded that taking a moment to assess the environment might help them provide safer and more effective care.
After the short video clip that scans the space, users are prompted to identify objects or actions of interest. Users may record their answers in the textbox then replay the video as needed. Any entered text will be recorded for later review.
Once the users submit their response they will be brought to the "Did You Notice?" feature. These features are found throughout the curriculum and highlight points of interest.
Interprofessional Learning Points
Interprofessional Learning Points appear sporadically throughout the Homecare Curriculum and are intended to highlight points of interest for homecare workers across the different health disciplines.
Informational videos are the core teaching components of the CACE Homecare Curriculum. They are designed to introduce a concept and provide insight into how the subject matter may be identified and addressed in a home visit. Some informational videos are followed by a quiz intended to solidify learning. Once a quiz is initiated, users will not have the option to rewatch the video, so it is recommended that the content be reviewed as necessary before moving on to the quiz.
Quizzes have a set score threshold that must be passed to continue. If users do not meet that threshold, they will have the option of attempting the quiz again.
Closed captioning is available for all dialogue scenes.
On the navigation screens, users may select which area to explore next. Once all options within an environment have been explored they are unlocked and may be accessed via the navigation bar.
End of module quiz
At the conclusion of each case, there is an end of module quiz. While the system will allow the quiz to be completed in group mode, participants must complete the quiz through their own individual accounts to receive a certificate of completion with their name. We strongly encourage facilitators to ask participants to complete the end of module quizzes on their own in order to assess learning.
The curriculum has a built in notepad feature at the top right corner of the page. Notes can be saved and reviewed at a later time. Users also have the ability to email notes to themselves. The email will automatically be sent to the email used during registration. Please note that saved notes are grouped by environment, therefore once a user exits (Ie. leaves the bathroom environment and selects the kitchen environment) previous notes will not appear.
Users have the option of resetting their profile. The feature is intended for facilitators that are working with multiple groups and wish to restore the navigation options and remove saved responses and notes. The profile reset feature can be found in the user profile and will reset progress on ALL cases.
